My name is Kristopher Kinch, and I started Asia-Pacific Connections Ltd. in Vancouver in 2000. I'm a well-qualified English-language instructor and I've been teaching for fourteen years, two of which I spent in Korea. I've also taught in Taiwan and Canada. I've held Head Teacher and Director of Studies positions, and done a fair bit of specialized English teaching. I've taught students of all ages in venues ranging from private Korean kindergartens to the British Council. I encourage prospective teachers to "Google me." BUSAN (2 Locations) Friendly and professional work environment with an American head teacher Desired Candidate: North Americans preferred; teaching experience preferred but not essential. Start Date: One job to start ASAP (Haeundae-gu) and one job to start in March (Geumjeong-gu). Maximum class size is 10 students. Teaching Hours: 10:00 am 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Teachers leave at 6:20 pm. Current Teachers: Three foreign teachers and five Korean teachers. Housing: Shared, air conditioned two-bedroom apartment provided. Salary / Benefits: 2.0-2.1 million won per month + all the usual benefits, including full pension refund. Two full weeks of vacation are offered, in addition to Korean national holidays. Comments: These schools were recommended to me by an excellent teacher I hired for one of the school two years ago. She is now head teacher and works hard to maintain a friendly and supportive environment for newcomers to Korea. ANSAN Friendly and professional work environment with a Canadian head teacher Desired Candidate: Teaching experience preferred but not essential. Start Date: One job in February. Location: City of Ansan, Gyeonggi Province http://www.iansan.net/english/m01_mayor01.html Students: Kindergarten and Elementary. Maximum class size is 12 students. Teaching Hours: Monday - Friday. 10am-6pm for kindergarten classes; 1pm-9pm for elementary classes. Current Teachers: 11 foreign teachers and 12 Korean teachers. Housing: Single, air conditioned studio apartment provided. Salary / Benefits: 2.0-2.1 million won per month + all the usual benefits, including full pension refund. Two full weeks of vacation are offered, in addition to Korean national holidays. Comments: The head teacher at this school is a professional and friendly young woman from Vancouver whom I placed at the school two years ago. She highly recommends the job and helps ensure a supportive and professional environment. This school is especially friendly to UK and Irish applicants as well as North Americans. BUNDANG (2 Locations) Very friendly and professional work environment with Canadian head teachers Desired Candidate: Teaching experience preferred but not essential. Start Date: Two jobs in February. Location: Nambundang and Bukbundang, City of Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province http://www.cans21.net/EN/Main/Main.asp Students: Kindergarten and Elementary. Maximum class size is 10 students. Comments: We have placed about 20 teachers in both schools in the past five years with good feedbacks. The management is experienced and the director of the schools (same ownership) knows foreign teachers well and is very good at anticipating their needs and concerns. CENTRAL SEOUL, AMERICAN CURRICULUM, THREE WEEKS VACATION Desired Candidate: North Americans preferred; teaching experience preferred but not essential. Start Date: Three Jobs in March. Location: Seocho-Gu, Seoul http://www.seocho.seoul.kr/english/ Students: Kindergarten and Elementary. Maximum class size is 8 students. Teaching Hours: Monday - Friday. Classes scheduled between 9.30 and 6.15 with several breaks / spare classes. Teachers finish at 4.10 either two or three days a week. Current Teachers: Nine foreign teachers and five Korean teachers. Housing: Single, air conditioned studio apartment provided. This school is also willing to pay key money and provide 400,000 won per month if the teacher wants to find his/her own accommodation. Salary / Benefits: 2.0-2.2 million won per month + all the usual benefits, including full pension refund. Three full weeks of vacation are offered, in addition to Korean national holidays. The contract is comprehensive and well-written. Curriculum: The school's curriculum is provided by High/Scope Educational Research Foundation (http://www.highscope.org The Academic Director is an experienced and qualified Canadian teacher. Comments: The working environment here is professional and the curriculum is easy to implement. The academic director is experienced and communicative. The school also offers comprehensive ongoing teacher training. This is a very desirable job for career-oriented teachers. Ive placed three teachers here over the past year, all with very good results. If none of the featured jobs appeal, please apply anyway. Very kind director in a small but, solid school The school has been around over 5 years and there are two native teachers. Most of teachers at this school renewed the contract and stayed more than 1yr. You can talk to two current teachers at this school. One of teachers are up to her 2yrs contract at this school and the other American male teacher can tell you about the school as well. They are looking for an enthusiastic by early June. The school is in Changwon city, which is the planned by the government, and it is a very clean and nice city. It is very easy to go to many mountains around for hike and only 50min driving away from Busan city, which is 2nd largest city in Korea. Very generous director at the big English kindergaten in Ulsan city Ulsan is about 1.2M populations on east coastline of Korea. It is well-know for Hyundae motor city in Korea so some of part of Ulsan city is a indusial area but, most of the areas are the modern city and close to nice country towns as well. This school is located in very wealthy area in Ulsan and this school is biggest one in this area and I can provide you with the schools and apt pics. There are two Canadian female teachers and two of them are finishing the contact in June and July respectively and we are looking for a teacher by 10 June. Two current teachers are more than welcome to tell you about the school and the town.
