Talking to many other foreigners in the city, I have realised that those working at ChildU really lucked out in the hogwan lottery. The management and staff are wonderful. Their English is fantastic and they are always looking to help their foreigners with everything from ordering food, to going to the doctor. The working environment is professional, yet friendly and relaxed. We have a great time in the office before and between classes, laughing, sharing stories and giving advice. May, our director, is always looking to show us the sights of South Korea and is more than willing to take us on day-trips to experience what Korean life is really like. Another bonus of a ChildU position, is the very spacious, well located apartment. Comparing it to the places of other teachers in the city, we have the best place in town. It's a great size, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a washer, a good-sized kitchen, and a large balcony. We are literally a 3 minute walk from school and on the outskirts of the Yeochun nightlife. Yeosu, for me, was the perfect city to become accustomed to Korean life. It's a relatively small city, but large enough that you can find something to occupy your free time. Granted, it doesn't have as many Western ammenities as Seoul, the relatively small population (approximately 300,000) makes up for it. If I had a friend interested in teaching English, I would most definitely recommend this position.
