While its Nanhai branch school, established in March, 2005，its Shunde branch will be established in May, 2007. As a leading educational training school based in the South of China, we need excellent teachers to join our team. Positions available: 6 starting at the end of June, 8 starting at the end of August, 2007. 1. One-year or six-month renewable contract with a monthly basic salary of RMB6000 to 6500 depending upon one’s qualifications and experience, to work a maximum of 96 class hours per month (average maximum 24 hours /week). One class hour is calculated as 50 minutes. Small size class of maximum 8-20 students (3yrd-adult) for each level. Spacious hall and bright classrooms, which are fully equipped with carpeting and air-conditioners. 2. Air fare reimbursement altogether (two-way) up to RMB8000 for one-year contract. 3. Two successive days off per week.16 days paid public holiday: 7 days in May, 7 days in October, 1 day for New Year, 1 day for Christmas. Taking optional summer & winter vacations as unpaid holiday, each length at least for 2 weeks. 4. Year-end bonus of RMB 4000 upon completion of a one-year contract, RMB 2000 upon completion of six months. 5. Free accommodation with a well-furnished apartment. 6. Free wide band internet access, free Chinese courses at school and free membership for Gym. Qualifications Desired: 1. Native English speakers only from North America, Australia, and UK with university, college or relevant education, who speaks with clear pronunciation and a neutral accent. The assignment will include adult classes at night as well as classes for children and youth on weekend. 2. A responsible, patient, active, punctual, honest and creative individual. 3. Able to adjust to an communicative English teaching system designed by the school, to take a 5-hour training program upon commencement of employment, focusing on class techniques, planning and activities. 4. Pair and /or experience in TEFL and/or education (especially in teaching children and/or similar experience) is preferred. Qualifications To qualify for the E2 work visa and a teaching job as an ESL instructor, you must be an English native speakers, which means that you have to come from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa. You must also have a University degree. You are not required to have teaching qualifications, although having them will mean that you are able to get better jobs. Salary Your salary will be in the range of 1.9 to 2.2 million won a month, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will be paid monthly, either directly in cash to you or to your Korean bank account. Severance Pay At the completion of your 12-month contract, you will be entitled to a severance package of one months average salary. Some institute owners try to arrange 50 or even 51-week contracts in order to avoid this, but we refuse to refer any teachers to these. Hours You will be expected to teach between 25 and 30 hours a week. Most jobs are Mon to Fri, but some are for Saturdays also, with less average hours per day. Taxes Your employer will take out Korean taxes from your salary before giving them to you. These will be between 3.3 to 5% of your salary. Medical Insurance Your employer will enroll you in the Korean Medical Insurance Union, which entitles you to the same rate for medical services and prescriptions as for Korean citizens (uninsured rates are much higher). Housing The employer will provide furnished rent-free accommodation for your time in Korea, usually close to your place of employment or if not then close to public transportation. You will be expected to pay the utilities such as gas, water, and electricity yourself or with your flatmates. Vacations You will be entitled to all Korean national holidays, and your employer is not allowed to deny you any of these. There usually come to about 13 days per year. In addition you will be given usually about 10 days paid vacation for the duration of your contract.
