English teaching guidelines will be provided to facilitate the teaching process. l Monthly salary: 5,000-7,000 RMB l Free furnished apartment with appropriate appliances. l Following the completion of a one-year contract, 8,000 RMB will be paid for airfare reimbursement. l 4 weeks holidays with full pay prior to the approval of the school. 2-week holidays is in August and 2-week holidays is in February normally. l Free Chinese training l Contract renewal - You will get 4000RMB as airfare reimbursement after the completion of each contract extension (6 months). - The salary will be increased 20% after contract renewal. The cap of monthly salary will be 9,000RMB. Why come to Songyuan? Looking for something different where you can enjoy China and save money, try Song Yuan. A modern and growing city on the plains of Northeast China, Song Yuan is an exiting and attractive place to teach. The city is located on the Songhua river, only two hours by train from the major cities of Harbin and Changchun, but in a rural setting. With four distinct seasons, it offers the visitors an enjoyable seasonal change enhancing the natural beauty. It is very economical to live, having not yet had an influx of western teachers and business people. The most popular meal is dumplings, at 6 yuan (0.7 USD), salads at 5 yuan (0.6USD) and beer(large) at 2 yuan (0.25 USD). Other popular meals are noodles at 5 yuan and kebabs at 4 yuan (0.5 USD). The monthly living cost here is around 800RMB (100 USD). The locals are both friendly and courteous, and displaying an uncommercialized aspect of China that allows the visitors to enjoy the many aspects of modern China as well as the traditional rural aspect. It is still a very Chinese city with no English spoken or advertised and offers our teachers a taste of China unique to the beautiful north. There is very good shopping, with several large shopping complexes supplying everything you would need. Street markets of late afternoon are plentiful with a wide range of fresh food and various odds and ends. One of the most famous resorts in Songyuan is Chaganhu lake. It is a national tourism site and is very well preserved. It is an all year round tourist resort. The winter fishing is a special attraction. 104,500 kilograms was caught in a single net in December 2006 still a world record, verified by the Guinness book of records. This takes place in December and January.
