Hello! Are you a native speaker of English knowing how and willing to teach foreign students your own language? Here is a great opportunity for you to both work and go on vacations this summer. Let us introduce ourselves: we are “Open School” from Vyborg (a small Russian town just at the boarder with Finland). For over 5 years we’ve been providing courses of foreign languages for both children and adults. In August, 2007 (04.08–17.08) we are organizing a camp in Finland, Kiljavan Opisto (not far from Helsinki) and now we invite applications from native-speaker teachers of English. This is a twice-annual camp which has been running successfully for several years. All students are Russian, mainly teenagers. Lessons are taught for approximately five hours per day, for 10 days. There are activities every evening including karaoke, competitions, discos etc. Teachers are free outside of lesson time but are strongly encouraged to participate in activities. The camp is held at a college situated beside a lake in the forest. Boat and cycle hire is available from the college on request. The emphasis of these camps is not on strict classroom studying, but on learning and practicing English through activities and fun. The wage is 300€ (for approximately ten days of teaching), which includes en-suite accommodation (shared), four meals a day, transport (can be reimbursed up to a maximum of 100€), activities, trips.
