My email: SangXing888@gmail.com,SangXing888@163.com A Brief Introduction of Suzhou International Foreign Language College Suzhou Foreign Language College (SIFLS) was approved by the Suzhou Education Bureau and established by Dr. Steve Liang in 1995. Dr. Liang is a famous American/Chinese scholar and the Honorary President of the board of directors of Schiller International University. SIFLS is the first private full-time boarding school catering for students from kindergarten to senior high school in Suzhou. Currently there are more than 3000 students, including nearly 100 students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas. There are more than 800 staff. SIFLS is located on the Yangcheng Lake in the northern part of Suzhou. The campus covers an area of 20 hectares, and the buildings are more than 160,000 square meters. The school has an excellent group of teachers from all over the country. Among them there are a lot of qualified teachers with special classification, teachers with advanced training , specialist computer teachers, about 100 Chinese-English teachers ,and more than 10 foreign teachers who teach oral English. The school has sent about one hundred students to overseas institutions. The student Xu Menglie was recruited by McGill University that has a world-recognized reputation. She got distinctions in every subject. Also, we have a friendly relationship with the following schools: No.107 Primary School and No.185 Middle School and Silicon Valley Alvarado School in New York and many other schools from Japan, Australia and Korea. In 2003, we established the cooperative relationship with the Bilingual Education Association in USA . The school has a Canadian class sponsored by the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. Within China there are cooperative relationships with Nanjing Foreign Language School, Shanghai Experiment School, Shanghai Xiangming Middle School, and Shanghai Dong Gezhi Middle School. Every year, the school organizes summer and winter camps for the students to Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. Since its establishment eight years ago, the school has achieved many honors, such as, the “Society Generally Recognized Successful Education Unit”, the “State Advanced Art Education Collective”, and “Voted best school by Shanghai children”. It has also been named by the Jiangsu Psychology Institute as a “Psychology Education Experimental School”. The school was one of the first “Computerized Experimental Schools” in Suzhou, and was named by Jiangsu Province as the training and activity base for information relating to the Olympic competition. The school has been successful in several Olympic competitions, and subject competitions, for example mathematics, computer, English and Chinese. The school is proud to have fostered many students of good character and scholastic achievement. Zhang Xin-xin was the best girl contestant in Jiangsu Province Information Olympics Competition; and Feng Biao won the first prize during the English oratorical contest in Suzhou. The school has provided many of the best successful candidates in the entrance exam to senior middle school for six years. A large batch of excellent senior middle school graduates have gone to many famous universities such as Beijing University, Shanghai University of Communication, Tongji University, Jinan University etc. In 2002, the school made a new breakthrough, three senior middle school graduates Ni Di, Ji Zefei and Zhou Yunhao won prizes in the State Computer Competition. Three of the twenty-seven prize winners were from the school. These three graduates were recommended for admission to three key universities without being required to take the entrance examination. That event initiated a new prospect for private schools. In summary, the school has a beautiful environment, advanced facilities, leading ideas, and a distinctive philosophy. The school is well received by the local community, has attracted wide attention and became a famous private school both in China and overseas.
