Sample Job Offer for teaching in Korea

 

Job offers are normally given before you decide to sign a contract. At this stage you can negotiate and discuss many things related to your situation, like experience, housing, family allowance, plane tickets, and many things you need to sort out before you sign a contract. Do not be shy to ask and discuss there are many places to work for. You are going to a new country and you need to be comfortable before getting the job. This is a sample offer (the normal) and can vary slightly, but that's what you can expect. Below is a sample job offer for ESL teaching job in South Korea. They might vary from country to another.

 

1.School address?    You can request (city, country side, etc)

2.Vac: Year round

3.Numbers of foreign teachers at school? depends on school

4.Student age? Elementary (70%), Secondary (30%)

5.Class size? 8~12 ( most schools teach kids, but only some do not

6.Teaching hours (class schedules please)? 3 - 9pm (evenings

7.NO Weekend classes (some school have weekend work)

8.Distance between accommodation and the school?5min (normally close)

9.Salary range?     1.900,000 - 2,000,000 ~  won    

10.Health insurance? YES

11.Description of accommodation?    Single housing and some are shared

12.Round trip air ticket? Yes upon completion of the contract

13.Vacation?       10 day or 15 days
